Barbados is located in the Caribbean Region of the North Atlantic Ocean. As an island in the Lesser Antilles, Barbados is a country in the West Indies. The GPS coordinates of Barbados are 13.1939° N and 59.5432° W. Just west of the Prime Meridian and north of the equator, Barbados is located just outside of the Caribbean Sea.

Although the country is completely surrounded by water, Barbados is very near to other islands. In the northwest, Saint Lucia and Martinique are northwest of Barbados, while the Grenadines and Saint Vincent are situated to the west. Venezuela, as well as Trinidad and Tobago, are in close proximity to Barbados to the southwest. To the southeast lies Guyana.
