BTS Announces Hiatus to Focus On Solo Careers

K-Pop supergroup BTS announced Tuesday they are going on hiatus to focus on solo projects after nine years together, but they said they’re not disbanding and will return to making music together.

In an hour-long YouTube video, the seven-member group discussed their hopes for the band as well as themselves as individual artists.

V assured fans the group isn’t splitting up, saying they’re taking time to work on solo projects, “and later when we gather again as a group that synergy will be like no other.”

Jungkook said “we promise we will return someday,” and asked fans to understand that they need this time to grow.
In the video, the seven members of BTS—RM, Jin, Suga, J-Hope, Jimin, V, and Jungkook—take time to reflect on their careers and, talking directly to the ARMY (their fans), discuss their reasoning and hopes behind the hiatus.

By taking time off from BTS, each member hopes to release solo material and take time to grow individually, as artists and as people. “We promise we will return one day even more mature than we are now,” Jungkook summed up.

In the words of J-Hope, “I think we should spend some time apart to learn how to be one again. I hope you don’t see this as a negative thing, and see it as a healthy plan. I think BTS will become stronger that way.”

CAN I FREEZE MY SWISS CHEESE?
Be careful. Freezing Swiss cheese can cause it to crumble. It’s better to keep it refrigerated. Baby Swiss, however, often fares better in the freezer.
