The savannah desert in Mali is a desert, but it hasnt always been like that. Archeologists have found out that in the 14th century people lived in the savannah desert because it was a rainforest. During time, the rich vegetation has gone and now all that is left of the savannah is a desert. I hope this helps!:) Anna
