I have been to Jo berg twice. The last time being 3-years ago. Each visit was not pleasant as being in the city reminded me of being in Northern Ireland in the early 1980’s. I was in the British military and engaged in various bits and bobs in the most dangerous village in the country (based upon the number of security forces who lost there lives there). The reason I mention this is the ‘vibe’ in Jo Berg is exactly the same as it was in Northern Ireland’s ‘murder central’. The only exception is i was walking around without the comfort of a weapon in my hands and three other desperados backing me up (we operated in 4 man teams). I have had a look at the ‘scores’ section on Jo Berg and it is in no way representative of the situation on the ground. Whether you are an expat nomad or a whatever please understand that Jo Berg is not a place to go ‘sight seeing’ in unless you have a couple SUV’s rammed with black water personnel following you. Joking aside there are better places to live in Southern Africa.
Why is there white stuff on my betta fish?
-
A fish with a fungal infection can have patches of a white cotton-like appearance on their body. Eliminating fungus should begin with a full water change and treatment of the new water with a fungus eliminator, this type of medication will cause the water to change to a gold-like color, this is normal.

Ick, also known as Ich or white spot, is an external parasite that latches onto the body of a betta, causing irritation, itchiness and malaise. The parasite stays on the fish for up to 4 or 5 days before it drops off, reproduces, and then latches back onto the fish.
Similarly, how do you know when a betta fish is going to die?
- Lethargy. Lethargy is normally the first sign that something is wrong with your betta.
- Fading Color. If your betta is suddenly losing color, this is more concerning than your fish just being lethargic.
- Hunched Back.
- Dropsy.
- Laying Down.
- Frequent Breathing.
- Decreased Appetite.
- Slow Reactions.
Similarly, it is asked, what causes white spots on betta fish?
Most of the parasitic diseases encountered in aquarium fish are protozoan parasites, especially those that cause white spot disease. White spot disease is a very common problem in freshwater aquarium fish. The disease is caused by the ciliate protozoan Ichthyophthirius multifiliis, commonly called ich or ick.
Will aquarium salt get rid of ICH?
Use aquarium salt to treat ich in freshwater aquariums. Dissolve 1 teaspoon per 1 gallon (4 L) of water in a small amount of tank water separately and then add the mixture to the tank. Leave the salt in the freshwater aquarium for 10 days. Combine salt with heat to further effectively kill off ich.
