Situated along the coastline of the Black Sea, the European country of Ukraine is in the eastern region of the continent. In the northeast as well as the east, Ukraine is bordered by Russia. In the north, Belarus surrounds Ukraine, and Moldova is along the central southern border of Ukraine. To the west lies Poland and to the southwest lies Romania.

These points show that Ukraine is located in the northern hemisphere and above the equator. Ukraine is also found in the eastern hemisphere.

In the north, Ukraine extends to a latitude of 52°22' N. This coordinate points to a small village, called Hremyach, in Ukraine’s Novhorod-Siverskyi Raion.
