Most Nerf-branded darts were widely compatible with Nerf blasters, but finding other brands of darts that were clip system compatible were few and far between (the X-Shot Excel being one exception). All Nerf blasters come packaged with a set of ammunition. With the exception of the Clip System blasters, most Nerf dart blasters are compatible with the different types of foam darts available; the Clip System blasters will only take streamlined darts, which have smaller diameter tips.
