      • Puerto Rico is located in Americas.

      • Located in the Caribbean, Puerto Rico is a territory of the United States of America. As one of the 28 island nations in the Caribbean, Puerto Rico is situated between the Caribbean in the south and the Atlantic Ocean in the north. The Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, as it is officially known, is an archipelago, meaning it is comprised of multiple smaller islands, all of which are located to the southeast of Florida.

      • Puerto Rico is part of North America. The GPS coordinates of Puerto Rico are 18.2208° N, and 66.5901° W. Puerto Rico is located above the equator, meaning it is situated in the northern hemisphere. The Caribbean island of Puerto Rico is also positioned in the western hemisphere. As part of the Greater Antilles, Puerto Rico is the smallest of the islands in this region of the Caribbean.

      • The highest level of elevation in Puerto Rico is atop the mountain, Cerro de Punta, which reaches an altitude of 4,390 feet above sea level. Contrary to the idea that would make logical sense, the lowest point of elevation in Puerto Rico is not 0 feet above sea level. Puerto Rico is approximately 4 feet below sea level along the coastlines.

      • With a length of 100 miles and a width of 35 miles, the total area of Puerto Rico is approximately 3,515 square miles. Of the entire area, roughly 3,458.56 square miles are land areas, while the remaining 56.44 square miles are made up of water. In terms of percentages, Puerto Rico is 98.4% land and 1.6% water.
